POPLARS, THE THAMES NEAR HURLEY

A graduate with a BA Hons in Fine Art and an MSc in Conservation of Historic Gardens and Landscapes, Gaila has been designing and constructing gardens since 1989, later working with the gardens of listed buildings.
She has carried on painting and there has been a natural progression where the painting is now central to her life. She now exhibits at Galleries, and the West Berkshire and North Hampshire Open Studios.
The British Landscape is her passion: She lives in its midst and row on the Thames and she is constantly inspired by its beauty. Gaila paints in oils after making a few marks on the canvas, the images take on a life of their own with accentuated colour, bold palette knife marks or more sensitive brush strokes, depending on the subject.
