Through the processes of drawing with wire and ink; Flora connects with and explores the natural world. The technique of creating a line in space is developed into a 3-D object or an extension of a wall based piece. It is the organic quality and movement of the wire that attracts her. As well as the contrasting colour of the copper and ink and the wire with printed marks.
Flora completed an MA in Sculpture at Winchester School of Art in 1998 and has since undertaken commissions and exhibitions widely across the UK, as well as teaching in adult education. She currently leads a variety of workshops teaching Wire copper sculpture at City Arts, Newbury, The Base, Greenham and The Farnham Maltings, Surrey. And she also offers private small group bespoke workshops in her studio.
