COMMON GROUND
Claire is a full-time artist based in the Hampshire countryside, where inspiration comes from the natural world and daily woodland walks. In a space which has long associations with folklore, being cocooned amongst the trees offers a sanctuary away from daily life and a connection to a forgotten world where magic and nature become one of the same.
She develops compositions intuitively, distilling observations and experiences and weaving them with memories and imagination. Her work includes both painting and drawing, and she aims to balance abstraction with representation to allow the viewer to discover their own narrative.
